Brandon is where a lot of the metro's new families are landing, which means a lot of new houses with big empty back yards and no plan for them yet.
What is different in Brandon
Rankin County's growth has put up a great many newer homes on lots with real space behind them. That is an advantage, and it changes the right advice.
On a tight infill lot you build a deck and stop. On a Brandon lot you can usually fit the deck, the covered structure, the kitchen and the fire feature — and it is materially cheaper to build those together than to come back three times. Every return trip means re-mobilising, re-permitting where required, and cutting into finished work to run gas, water or low-voltage lines that should have gone in the first time.
A deck permit is generally required in Rankin County. We handle that filing rather than leaving you to work out which office wants what.
What we build in Brandon
If you are planning to end up with a full outdoor room eventually, it is worth at least designing the whole thing now even if you build it in stages.

If the budget says phase it, we run the gas, water and wiring now and cap it, so phase two does not mean tearing up phase one.
Gas fire tables sit happily on composite. Wood-burning and masonry need clearances and footings decided before the structure goes in.
